Domestic and family violence prevention workshop
About this event
This workshop will help you gain an understanding of gender-based violence, how to have supportive and safe conversation and where to get help and assist people impacted by domestic and family violence. Moo Baulch and Jean Parker from WAGEC's Primary Prevention team will facilitate the workshop.
This workshop is for community members* living, studying, working or volunteering in the Inner West.
Gender-based violence and prevention: • The drivers of gender-based violence • The impacts of gender-based violence • Healthy relationships and red flags/signs of abuse
Making our communities safer: • How to be an active bystander or ally • Responding compassionately and safely with disclosures of violence or abuse • Practice scenarios and gain confidence having difficult conversations • Support in the Inner West and how to practice self-care
