Autumn Open Garden Weekend

About this event

We are delighted to welcome guests back for this rare autumn opening - the first autumn open garden in over 12 years. Don’t miss the chance to see Wombat Park Estate's display of colour and history.

Our magnificent 250-acre historic estate transforms in autumn. The grand avenues blaze with rich reds, golds and amber hues; the stately conifers stand in deep green contrast; and the tranquil garden rooms take on a serene, timeless beauty that only this season can bring.

Described as “pure romance”, Wombat Park’s garden was first planted in the early 1850s and developed continuously through the 19th and early 20th centuries. The splendid Arts and Crafts residence, designed by renowned Melbourne architect Rodney Alsop (c.1910–12), provides a graceful centrepiece to a garden of state significance.

Discover sweeping lawns, ancient trees, clipped hedges and hidden spaces — each turn revealing new textures and colour as autumn light filters through the canopy. This is a garden to wander slowly, breathe deeply, and fall in love with all over again.

Food, beverages and local produce will be available for purchase on the day at our country market on the croquet lawn.

Daylesford is just 1 hour 20 minutes from Melbourne, making this the perfect country day trip or weekend escape.
