Liverpool City Council Sorry Day 2026

About this event

Liverpool City Council's annual ceremony commemorating National Sorry Day.

National Sorry Day acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities known as 'The Stolen Generations'.

The ceremony will include an acknowledgment of country, a speech from Deputy Mayor Councillor Peter Harle, a flag-raising ceremony, followed by a light morning tea.

The ceremony also marks the beginning of National Reconciliation Week from 27 May to 3 June. We invite the community to attend and participate on this important day
