Explore the stunning grounds of Retford Park which surround the former home of James Fairfax AC. The garden is a wonder to walk through at any time of the year with the detailed knot garden, sculptures and pool pavilion, and a self-led art trail for children. Dogs on leash are welcome in the dog-friendly gardens.

Inside, our experienced guides will introduce you to the former residence of James Fairfax AC and share the stories behind the incredible collection of 16th, 17th & 18th Century furniture, fine art and textiles that lie within.

Note:

Access to the house is by guided tour only and spaces are limited. Dogs are not permitted inside the house. To avoid missing your house tour, please allow at least 20 minutes to get from the entrance gates to the main house and through registration.
