Active Kids: Art In The Park: NAIDOC Indigenous Ochre Pot Painting
About this event
Celebrate Indigenous culture this NAIDOC week by joining us for an Indigenous Ochre Pot Painting Workshop. Aboriginal Ochre is a traditional form of paint. This ochre is collected from the Riverina area of New South Wales, in the region of Binaal Billa, by Wiradjuri people.
Using traditional indigenous colours of white, red and yellow 100% natural ochre, children will be invited to design a terracotta pot. Please note: As this is a natural product, some small stones may be present and colours will vary.
NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. You can support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through activities and events held across the country.
