An ADF families event: Teens, Tweens and Tiny Tots Winter Ball, Townsville

NOTE: This event is only for Australian Defence Force members and their families.

Step into a magical night at the Townsville Teens, Tweens and Tiny Tot’s Winter Ball, where Defence children are invited to dress up, shine bright, and walk the red carpet for an evening of music, dancing, laughter, and new friendships. This special event creates a safe, supportive, and celebratory space for young people to connect with others who share the unique experiences of Defence life.

Aligned with Defence Member and Family Support (DMFS) core services and programs, the Winter Ball promotes social connection, belonging, and resilience. Children and young people have the chance to build confidence, express themselves, and enjoy positive peer interactions that strengthen their sense of community. While the kids dance the night away, parents can mingle and connect with other Defence families, supporting their own wellbeing and social networks.

The Winter Ball is designed to celebrate our Defence kids, encourage friendships, and create joyful memories that support healthy coping and community connection throughout the ups and downs of Defence life.

Parents, guardians and caregivers are welcome to join in the fun or relax in the designated lounge area while their little ones dance the night away in a safe and supervised environment. Please note: Parents and guardians are required to stay on-site and children are to be supervised at all times.

Parents and guardians are required to remain on-site and supervise children at all times. A photographer will be in attendance at this event. If you don’t want to be photographed, or have your family photographed, please let the photographer know. Please note: any photos taken may be used in DMFS publications, online or on social media.
