Art Together - Drawing & Mark Making
About this event
Join our creative Drawing & Mark Making workshop with local artist Thao La, inviting toddlers and their carers to explore movement, gesture, and self-expression through creative mark-making activities. Children are encouraged to experiment freely, building confidence as they discover how their bodies can create marks, lines, and shapes.
Workshop Activities
1. Mark Making Exploration Children explore a variety of tools and techniques on individual paper:
Crayons, bundled pencils, and chalk for sensory drawing Scribbling and free-form line making Drawing using a pebble dipped in paint to create movement-based marks Focus on experimentation, gesture, and cause-and-effect 2. Big Drawing Together A collaborative drawing experience on a large shared surface:
Large paper placed on the floor or wall Tracing hands, arms, and body outlines Children and carers draw over and around traced forms together Encourages movement, collaboration, and spatial awareness Learning Outcomes
Development of fine and gross motor skills Increased body awareness through movement and tracing Confidence in self-expression and mark-making
Who it’s for Suitable for children aged 1–4 years, this workshop is designed for active participation between child and parent/carer, fostering connection and shared creative experiences.
