Illuminated Stories

About this event

Light and mark making become language in this hands-on storytelling workshop for curious kids and their grown-ups with First Nations artist Peter Hood (Kurnai, Yorta Yorta) and WRAP’s Emily Devers. Using paper lanterns and simple making techniques, participants will craft illuminated vessels that hold stories of home, Country, imagination and belonging.

Inspired by decorative traditions of using objects to tell and share stories, Illuminated Stories invites families to slow down, collaborate and create together—transforming humble materials into glowing narrative objects.

Supported by Est. and IKEA, the workshop celebrates accessible design, shared creativity and the quiet magic that emerges when stories take form.

Ideal for kids from the age of 3+ accompanied by a parent/guardian. Please note that each ticket is for one child and their parent/guardian. If you would like to bring more than one child, please purchase an additional ticket.

Note that as this is a painting workshop, please wear appropriate clothing.

Workshop: Saturday 16 May, 10:00am – 11:30am
