About this event
Aunty Beryl Van-Oploo is a Gamilaroi woman and Chef. For decades she has taught and mentored people of community and Michelin-star chefs about ancestral foodways and the importance of building community.
At 83 she has published her first cookbook and shared stories of her life as a mother, Aunty, educator and custodian of Gamilaroi knowledge.
She is the Elder in residence at the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence in Redfern and continues her catering business Yaama Bargay.
At the conclusion of the Yarn-Up please join us for canapés featuring Indigenous ingredients prepared by our Year 12 Hospitality students.
