Bookmaking Workshop with Lorna Crane

About this event

In this creative & experimental 2 day workshop at Primrose Paper Arts, you will create your own unique set of handmade brushes, explore mark making & create a concertina style book with Lorna Crane.

Renowned Pambula based artist, Lorna Crane, invites you to join her in a two day experimental bookmaking workshop with Primrose Paper Arts where you will create your own unique set of handmade brushes to explore a different approach to mark making with ink and watercolours.

On Day 1 (Saturday 11th July) you will make your own set of unique hand made brushes using found sticks, plant fibres, cloth and cotton threads. On Day 2 (Sunday 12th July) you will make your own hand made concertina style book with Hahnemuhle paper using ink, watercolours, coloured pencils and oil pastels, finishing with hand stitching a dowel into the spine. Lorna will gift the dowel rods.

About the Artist: Lorna Crane is a contemporary abstract and fibre artist from Pambula in southern NSW. Much of her work has been about the landscape of time and place. Her work speaks about moments of time where repeat motifs are formed in an experiential and gestural manner.
