Castle Hill Players presents 'A Shot in the Dark

About this event

Adapted by Harry Kurnitz from the play “L’Idiote” by Marcel Achard Directed by Jason Spindlow By Arrangement with Renaissance Literary/Talent Agency, Inc. on behalf of "Lyz Kurnitz-Thurlow & The Leland Hayward Royalty Pool”

One body, one bullet, and a dozen scandalous secrets.

When a crime of passion is committed in a respectable Parisian household, newly appointed Chief Magistrate Paul Sevigne takes on what should be an open and shut case.

After all, the accused - good natured and guileless maid Josefa - has been found unconscious, nude, clutching a gun, with her lover dead beside her.

Yet, armed with nothing but gut instinct and a knack for sniffing out buried truths, Sevigne uncovers a tangled web of mistresses, motives, and mistaken identities that puts his new position in jeopardy.

With razor-sharp dialogue and a cast of delightfully flawed characters, expect shocking twists and a murder investigation that dances on the edge of absurdity.

A Shot in the Dark is a riotous whodunit that flips the murder mystery genre on its head and was the inspiration for Peter Sellers’ 1964 film of the same name.

The event will continue in wet weather.
