Family Sunday: Workshop with Kristin Darell

This event is presented in partnership with Sydney Writers’ Festival. Acclaimed children’s author Kristin Darell will lead young writers to create a character and use their five senses to spark a new story idea. Following prompts and a step-by-step process, students will go on a journey of discovery, gathering all they need to solve their ultimate character equation. They’ll then have a chance to bring the start of the story to life — through writing, illustrating or both. Kristin’s simple formula makes the art of story creation fun, accessible, and something all kids can enjoy. Recommended for ages 6 to 12. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet outside the Dixson Room, Ground Level, Mitchell Building, State Library of NSW. We have multiple author workshops happening on the same day!
