Great Glossy Count

About this event

We want to share that the Great Glossy Count is coming up fast this weekend 16-17 May. Anyone can participate in this nationwide event and help collect data that supports Glossy conservation efforts. The Great Glossy Count website has links to all the information you need. Remember: Always respect the Country you are on and the flora and fauna you encounter. Do not disturb Glossies or other wildlife for a photo, identification or any other reason – it is important not to disrupt their normal behaviour.

You must have landowner permission to enter private property.

If you can’t get involved in the Great Glossy Count, your sightings at any time are still valuable! The more sightings that are contributed to BioNet (the NSW Government’s biodiversity database), the more information there is available to inform conservation efforts. Anyone can contribute to BioNet, and sensitive data is protected with varying levels of access. You can register as a BioNet user here, and information about how to contribute data can be found here.
