An ADF families event: National Families Week - Hunter

This event is for ADF members and their families only.

Get ready for an action‑packed day of celebration at our National Families Week Event! Join us at Toboggan Hill Park, Nelson Bay, where families of all shapes and sizes can come together and celebrate the theme “Every Family, Everywhere”.

Slide into a huge line up of activities including Tobogganing, Roller Skating, Bowling, Indoor Rock Climbing, Bungee Up, Mini Golf or Gyro Extreme, plus the Giant Maze and Outdoor Free‑Play zones. Families are welcome to bring their own food, snacks, and eskies if you prefer to self‑cater.

Tickets are limited, so please only register if you genuinely intend to attend the event. A waitlist will be activated once tickets are fully allocated. If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your tickets promptly so they can be offered to another Defence family.

You should carefully read the following information to ensure you are aware of all requirements relating to this event. This information is regularly updated and may not be the same as information on previous DMFS events you may have registered for.

· Each ticket holder will receive two toboggan rides and one additional activity, which can be chosen from Roller Skating, Bowling, Indoor Rock Climbing, Bungee Up, Mini Golf or Gyro Extreme. The Giant Maze and Outdoor Free‑Play areas are unlimited for all ticket holders.

· Tobogganing is suitable for all ages and experience levels. Children 7 years and under must ride doubled with an adult or older child, while children 8 years and over must ride alone. The maximum weight limit is 120kg. Toboggan rides take approximately 5–10 minutes per lap, and multiple rides may help build confidence. Tobogganing is not permitted during pregnancy.

· Enclosed shoes are not required for tobogganing. Suitable footwear is required for rock climbing (climbing shoes available for hire for $3). Long socks are required for roller skating and are available for purchase.
