International Kite Day / FREE Kite Making Event / Anderson Park

Rug up warm and join us for a Sunday morning by the water, enjoying the sights and sounds of winter at the markets. Active in Ryde will be handing out FREE kite kits at Ryde Wharf Markets Sunday the 12th of July.

The Active In Ryde team will once again be handing out kite kits from 10am, you will be able to find them on the top hill above the markets, space will be made for those who would like to decorate and build their kite at the park, before launching it into the skies for some kite flying family fun. 120 kite kits will be available for pre-booking, additional kites also available on the day.

Date: Sunday 12 June 2026 Time: 10:00am-12:00pm (All pre-booked Kites need to be collected prior to 11am, after 11am, kites will be handed out on a first come, first served basis) Capacity: 120 prebooked, Additional Kites will be available on the day after 11:00am Suitability: Fun for the whole family Accessibility: This is an accessible venue with smooth surfaces, and pathways along the perimeter of the park for access. This park has offers access to a disabled bathroom, and other bathroom facilities. Short walk from Meadowbank Ferry Wharf and Meadowbank Train Station, all are welcome.
