Junior Ranger – Plant Pioneers

How many different plants can you find in one park? More than you might think!

This FREE Junior Ranger (ages 8 to 12) PLANT PIONEERS session at Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre (Enoggera Reservoir) invites kids to slow down, look closely and discover the incredible diversity of plant life surrounding them. Led by David Jinks from Gold Coast Botany, Junior Rangers will learn what biodiversity is, why it is so important to healthy ecosystems and get hands on investigating the variety of species found right here at Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre. From grasses and groundcovers to canopy trees, every plant has a story and a role to play.

Junior Rangers will leave with a deeper appreciation for the living world around them and the skills to keep exploring long after the session wraps up. Your child will need to bring their curiosity, as well as a hat and enclosed shoes!
