Kids Coin Trade

Please note that the coins available for trade are the same as those traded over the last 12 months.
This Winter school holidays, learn what it takes to be a real Numismatist at the Royal Australian Mint. For three mornings only, Minties aged 5 to 12 years will be able to trade their ordinary coins for some of the exciting circulating coins the Mint has to offer.
Grown-ups and other family members are welcome to attend, but remember, this one is just for the kids. Adults will not be permitted to trade.

When: Wednesdays 1 July, 8 July and 15 July 2026, 15 minute time slots, between 10am and 12pm
Where: Little Visitors Vault, Royal Australian Mint
What to bring: Up to $20 in ordinary coins

The fine print
1. This program is for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years.
2. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 years. Children without a guardian present will not be permitted to participate in the program. Parents/ guardians will be responsible for the welfare and supervision of their children.
3. Coins will be traded for their face value (eg $1 for $1, $2 for $2).
4. Only Australian coins can be traded. Banknotes or other forms of currency will not be accepted. Visit the Mint Shop beforehand to exchange banknotes or withdraw cash.
5. Children must be present at the Kids Coin Trade in order to participate.
6. The Royal Australian Mint reserves the right to cancel this event without prior notice/warning.
