Stop Motion Animation After‑School Program

Creative Filmmaking, Storytelling and Digital Skills for All Ages

The Brick Evolution Stop Motion Animation Program is a hands‑on creative filmmaking experience where students of ALL AGES learn how to plan, build, film and edit their own animated shorts using LEGO bricks and the Stop Motion Studio app. Each week, participants explore storytelling, set design and digital animation through structured, project‑based activities designed to be fun, accessible and family‑friendly.

What Students Do• Learn the fundamentals of stop‑motion animation including storyboarding, scene setup, lighting and frame‑by‑frame filming • Build LEGO sets, props and characters to bring their stories to life • Use the Stop Motion Studio app to capture, edit and produce short animated films • Experiment with camera angles, pacing, continuity and simple visual effects • Work individually, with siblings, or alongside parents/carers who wish to join in • Review, refine and improve their animations using simple editing tools • Celebrate their work with an end‑of‑term mini‑film showcase

Requirements• Students must bring a phone or tablet with the Stop Motion Studio app installed (free) • Kids, teens and adult aged kids (lol) all welcome to join. • No prior experience or knowledge is required • All LEGO building materials and creative resources are supplied
