Mastering the portrait: Technique & tradition

About this event

Join us for an immersive Fine Arts portraits class designed for aspiring artists of all levels! This course will take you on a creative journey through essential design elements and principles, focusing on colour theory, composition, tone and basic perspective. Through hands-on exercises and guided projects, you'll learn how to effectively use these foundational concepts to enhance your artwork.

Participants will explore the impact of colour in art, understand the relationships between different elements, and develop skills in creating balanced and dynamic compositions. You’ll also gain insights into tonal values and perspective techniques, enabling you to add depth and realism to your pieces. Whether you're looking to refine your skills or experiment with new techniques, this class offers a supportive environment to express your creativity and develop your unique artistic voice.

Alternatively, if you would like to book an additional course in the same Term, please contact the Art Centre for a discount code to apply to your second course booking.

A standard adult enrolment for one full 9-week term is $420. For pensioners with a current pension card, the fee is discounted to $315.

Please note public holidays of 27 April and 8 June where classes will not be running.
