NAIDOC Week | Author's Platform: Naomi Parry Duncan presents Musquito
About this event
Join us at Ryde Library as we help celebrate NAIDOC Week with this special Auslan interpreted author event. Professional historian, storyteller and editor Naomi Parry Duncan will be in conversation with her new book, Musquito. A vivid, compelling portrait of the intertwined lives of Aboriginal people and new arrivals in the fledgling colonies. Naomi has uncovered the dramatic and tragic story of one of the better known First Nations resistance warriors of the early colonies. Astonishingly, she also discovered her own ancestors were entangled in his story. Naomi will be chatting with award-winning writer, educator, and researcher Rachel Franks from the State Library of NSW.
Attendees on the night have a chance to win a signed copy. There will be on onsite bookseller for purchase of the book and Naomi will be available for signing and questions.
Please note: This event has a 6.15pm arrival time for a 6.30pm event start time.
