Create a nature-inspired Book Week costume using recycled and natural materials inspired by Australian wildlife stories.

Event description Join children’s author Cate Storey at the Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee Sustainability Centre for a creative and nature-inspired Book Week costume workshop.

Children and families will create unique costumes using natural and recycled materials, inspired by their favourite native wildlife themed children’s books. From owls and gliders to frogs, butterflies and gum trees, this hands-on workshop encourages creativity while celebrating Australian wildlife and sustainability.

Cate Storey is the Events Coordinator at Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee and author of three children’s books: Snuggled Away, The Perfect Hollow and Sunny Finds His Song.

What to bring: • We will have a collection of materials you can use, however you are also welcome to bring your own materials • Your favourite wildlife themed children’s book for inspiration • A reusable water bottle

Suitable for children and families. Children must be supervised by an adult.
