About this event
PODD (Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display) is a comprehensive and complete communication system for individuals who cannot meet all of their communication needs with speech alone. PODD is a tool designed to support individuals with self-initiated, self-generated, autonomous communication.
This two-day introductory workshop is appropriate for support teams, including speech pathologists and other allied health professionals, family members, support workers, teachers and education support staff working with individuals with complex communication needs. These challenges may be associated with a range of diagnoses.
This workshop will include:
Demonstration of the PODD communication system through videos and case studies Opportunity for hands on practice using PODD communication systems Strategies to support the implementation of PODD with individuals and support teams
Learning outcomes of PODD Introductory Workshop -
Understand the principles behind PODD and aided language stimulation. Explore the structure, features, and customisation of PODD communication books. Gain hands-on practice with PODD templates to create personalised communication systems. Learn effective strategies to teach and model PODD with individuals and their support networks. Build confidence in supporting autonomous communication across different settings and daily routines.
This workshop will take place face to face in Glen Waverley, Victoria
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
