River Rangers

About this event

Children will explore Parramatta Park’s historic Dairy through outdoor play, nature discovery and campfire cooking.

Gather around the campfire for a day of outdoor adventure, nature play and old-fashioned bush cooking at the historic Dairy precinct in Parramatta Park.

Children will spend the day exploring the park’s river landscape, setting up camp, discovering what grows and lives in the park, and learning simple camp-style cooking skills. Together, they will make damper and popcorn over the fire and try their hand at churning cream into butter the old-fashioned way.

Blending hands-on cooking, exploration and imaginative outdoor play, this winter holiday program offers a day of connection, creativity and adventure in Parramatta Park’s unique heritage setting.

This program is suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years.
