Full Day School Holiday Program

📍 Permaculture Hawkesbury Valley Farm

10 Rose St, Wilberforce (Located inside Australiana Pioneer Village)

Spend the day caring for our friendly farm animals and discover what it really takes to keep animals healthy, happy and thriving on a working farm 🐾

Children will become junior animal farmers for the day as they take part in the daily jobs required to care for a wide range of farm animals while enjoying plenty of hands-on animal interactions.

During this exciting full-day program, children will:

🐐 Help care for our newborn baby goats and learn what young animals need to grow healthy and strong

🥕 Feed a variety of farm animals and learn about their different diets and nutritional needs

💧 Check and refill water stations while learning why clean water is essential for animal health

🪵 Change bedding and help create clean, comfortable homes for our animals

🪮 Groom and interact with our animals while learning about animal behaviour and welfare

🥚 Collect eggs from our chickens, ducks and quails

🐓 Learn how to recognise signs of a healthy animal and discover some basic animal health care skills

🐰 Spend plenty of hands-on time cuddling and interacting with our friendly animals

🌿 Learn about responsible animal ownership, compassion and farm stewardship

🔥 Finish the day around the campfire with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows

This immersive farm experience gives children a genuine understanding of the responsibility involved in caring for animals while developing empathy, confidence and practical life skills.

In a world where many children have little opportunity to interact closely with animals, Animal Care Day provides meaningful hands-on experiences that help children build compassion, responsibility and confidence. Children leave with a deeper appreciation for animals and the important role they play in our lives and food systems.

This is a full-day program running during regular school hours, making it a great option for working families looking for an engaging and educational school holiday activity. Children are welcome to attend as a drop-off program, however parents and caregivers who would prefer to stay for the duration are also very welcome.
