School Holiday Workshop: Busy Beads with Natalia Milosz-Piekarska

About this event

Morning workshop: 5 - 8 years olds (10am - 11.30am)

Afternoon workshop: 9 -13 years old (1pm - 3pm)

Children will discover how everyday materials can be transformed into whimsical beads and imaginative works of art.

In this workshop, participants will explore a range of unconventional materials, including foil, straws, cardboard, fabric scraps, pasta, and found objects, and experiment with different ways to cut, fold, wrap, shape, and decorate them into unique, threadable beads. Along the way, children will investigate colour, texture, pattern, and form while developing their own creative solutions.

After creating a collection of one-of-a-kind beads, participants will assemble their pieces into either a wearable neckpiece or a small sculpture, transforming simple materials into a personal artwork. Through making, imagining, and discovering, children will learn that with a little creativity, almost anything can become a bead.

Bring a friend, or make some new ones along the way. This is an inclusive, beginner-friendly workshop designed to build confidence, creativity, and connection.

Registration is essential as numbers are limited to 12 children. Materials will be supplied, however feel free to bring your own found objects to turn into a bead!

Parents, guardians or care givers are required to stay on site for the duration of the program.
