School Holidays @ Rockdale Library - Indigenous Waterways (K-Y6)
About this event
In this hands-on workshop, children discover Aboriginal water knowledge, including how waterways were used for travel, fishing, and the life found in freshwater and the sea. They learn about traditional Aboriginal canoes, made from strong, durable materials suited to local waterways, and experiment with lightweight natural materials to explore floating, balance, and design.
Each child will get to take their mini boat home as a keepsake of their learning.
This activity blends science, creativity, and Aboriginal water knowledge in a fun, age appropriate, and respectful way.
Bookings for this event open at 9AM on Monday 22 June. Other school holiday activities will be available to book 14 days before each event.
