Strengthening Transition to Kindergarten for Children with Disability
About this event
Join the Department of Education for an in-person professional learning session focused on strengthening transitions to Kindergarten for children with disability within the Windsor Network.
This session brings together preschool educators, therapists, early childhood agencies and school staff to build shared understanding, strengthen connections, and improve outcomes for children as they move from early childhood settings into school.
Strong transitions rely on effective communication, clear processes, and collaborative partnerships across all settings. This session will provide an opportunity to connect across sectors and develop a clearer understanding of how we can work together to support children and families.
In this session, we will explore:
The current context and challenges faced by early childhood settings Professional learning and supports currently available (and how they are being accessed) What schools are seeing when children start Kindergarten Practical supports available to assist successful transitions An overview of the Windsor Network, including how to access support and the application process Afternoon tea will be provided.
