Sweet skills: Professional baking workshop

About this event

Love baking or keen to build practical hospitality and baking skills? Join us for a fun hands-on baking workshop where you’ll learn how to make a delicious Basque burnt cheesecake from scratch with guidance from a professional baker.

Held in a fully equipped commercial baking studio, this workshop gives young people the opportunity to experience working in a professional baking kitchen while learning practical baking and food preparation skills used in cafés, bakeries and hospitality settings. Participants will build confidence in the kitchen, learn basic baking techniques, food preparation and presentation skills, and gain insight into pathways for future casual work or careers in the baking and hospitality industry.

Whether you’re a beginner or already enjoy baking, this workshop is a great way to develop job-ready skills, meet other young people, and have fun during the winter school holidays.

Ku-ring-gai Council is covering the majority of the workshop cost, so participants only need to pay $50 to attend.
