Winter Holiday Fun at No.1 Pump Station

Did you know that an animal delivered water to the goldfields before No 1 Pump Station’s engines ever did?

On the 130th anniversary of the day Perth first learned about CY O'Connor's bold plan to build a pipeline to the Goldfields, look for the mystery animal around the pump station and make one to take home with you.

There are plenty of activities on offer to help you learn more about what's now referred to as the 'Golden Pipeline.'

This a special opportunity for your family to experience No 1 Pump Station outside of its normal open days.

Weather permitting, we recommend packing a picnic if you wish to stay longer to enjoy a walk along Mundaring Weir and take in the natural beauty of Minderinjy and the Darling Ranges.

Please note, activities are aimed at primary-school aged children. Siblings are of course welcome!
