World Environment Day 2026 - cool suburbs colouring competition
About this event
As part of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) 50 Cities / 50 Degrees program and World Environment Day 2026, Blacktown City Council is inviting local children to help imagine cooler, greener and more climate-resilient suburbs. Children aged 4–12 years are invited to colour in the “Cool Suburbs’ colouring sheet or create their own artwork showing how people in Blacktown can stay safe and cool during a heatwave.
Think shady trees, cool parks, water play areas, sustainable homes, solar panels, community gardens, walking and cycling paths, and other creative ideas that help keep our community healthy and comfortable.
Great prizes to be won for each category.
Age categories: • 4–6 years • 7–9 years • 10–12 years
Entries close at 4pm on Wednesday 17 June 2026.
Please include: • Child’s name, age and address • Parent/carer’s name, email address and phone number
