Youth Creative Writing Workshop

About this event

Join a creative writing workshop led by a published Australian author. Build your writing skills, explore your ideas and shape your story into something you’re proud to share.

This year marks 200 years of the original Fisher’s Ghost story and you’re invited to be part of this local storytelling tradition. The theme for the 2026 Fisher’s Ghost Writing Prize is “Years in the Making,” and writers of all levels are encouraged to create a piece inspired by this theme.

You’ll learn simple tips to help your writing shine, like how to build characters, organise your ideas and make your stories more engaging. You’ll also get new ideas, feel more confident sharing your work, and meet other local writers in a friendly, supportive space.

Campbelltown City Library has partnered with WestWords to create the Fisher’s Ghost Writing Prize. This annual competition is open to anyone who lives, works or attends school, TAFE or university in the Campbelltown Local Government area from Year 4 and above.

Visit Fisher’s Ghost Writing Prize for more competition information.

If you require an AUSLAN interpreter please notify the Library at time of booking.
